As a Senior Manager, Partnerships Management - International Banking, you are responsible for actively managing the daily relationships and activities with strategic insurance partners across International Banking. This role ensures the proper implementation and deployment of partnership agreements, while also overseeing the completion of timelines and objectives aligned with the bank's insurance strategy. The Senior Manager works closely with each partner to execute the agreed-upon strategies and maintain strong, productive relationships, driving the success of the bank's insurance initiatives.

Reporting to the Director IB Insurance Partnerships, the SM Partnerships Management plays an important role overseeing the daily operations and activities related to the strategic alliances. You will have to nurture key partnerships, coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and execution of partnership initiatives, and monitoring the performance and impact of these collaborations. The role requires also to implement strategies to maximize the value of Insurance partnerships, resolving any issues that arise, and maintaining strong, productive relationships with the partners. The role is crucial in driving the bank's Insurance growth and innovation through effective and strategic collaboration with the specific partners.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Maintain and nurture strong relationships with strategic partners to ensure mutual goals are met.
• Ensure the proper implementation of partnership agreements, including the deployment of joint initiatives and projects.
• Track and analyzes the performance of partnerships to ensure they meet agreed-upon objectives and deliver value, aligning partnership activities with the bank's overall strategic goals and objectives.
• Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the partnership.
• Facilitate effective communication between internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration.
• Prepare and present regular reports on partnership activities, performance, and outcomes for senior management, ensuring the follow up on strategic KPIs and activities.
• Maintain and update an inventory of key milestones related to each individual partner, specially related to contract dates, renewals, investment commitments and any other relevant activities. Ensure all partners maintain updated files and documents in Scotiabank internal platforms, including Coupa and Icertis. Works closely with legal and compliance and ensures that contracts for partnerships are in place and ran through our Third-Party Risk assessment process

• Ensure all partnership activities comply with regulatory requirements and manages any associated risks.
• Has a good understanding of the Bank Retail & Wealth Management strategies, develops and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders such as retail products, Private Banking value proposition, distribution and segment teams at a local and HO level.
• Work closely with teams in country to understand the competitive landscape, local partners and products, needs for each segment and tailors partnership offers to ensure innovative, competitive and value-added offers are proposed. Fosters a collaborative approach with incountry teams to ensure a successful implementation and integration of partnership initiatives.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, competitive landscape in markets. Timely identify and advise on new opportunities to build and maintain a competitive edge
• Contribute to the development of partners key performance indicators to drive accountability for desired business results.
• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance,
AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

• Countries/regions/business units supported - IB Insurance business operates in: Caribbean (8 countries); Mexico, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Uruguay, in 2 languages (English & Spanish).
• Deals with 12+ Insurance and Bank Regulatory bodies and manages business in 12+ currencies.
• Manages relationships with 15-20 external insurance companies, agencies/brokers.
• Works in partnership with Retail/Branch networks and Wealth Management in all countries. • Works in partnership with internal controls and TPRM

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

• Due to the markets served fluency (oral and written) in English and Spanish is a must.
• PMP certification is desirable.
• 7+ years of experience in Banking or Strategy roles working in positions requiring analytical and creative problem-solving skills that could be applied to the insurance and financial services to diverse markets.
• Good understanding of the Insurance industry and knowledge of Insurance regulations and industry dynamics in countries is desirable.
• The incumbent must have a solid understanding of Retail Banking dynamics, processes, products and services as well as a thorough understanding of Insurance products. He/she must also possess strong relationship management skills.
• In-depth knowledge on sales and service design concepts and management techniques
• Proven success in situations requiring outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence decisions.
• Expert knowledge of software programs (i.e. MS - Excel, Outlook, One Note, PowerPoint, Visio and Word).
• Thorough knowledge of standard project methodologies and experience leading projects with multiple resources in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
• A sophisticated/strategic sales approach which is solution based and that leverages the strength and capabilities of the organization.
• Strong organization & self-management skills to convert strategic objectives and plans into measurable results.
• Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to deal with all levels of management internally to Scotiabank and externally with different partners.
• Strong understanding of the products/markets/segments he/she is responsible for managing.
• Proven track record and ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Experience developing strategic plans and a proven ability to communicate, develop and successfully implement operational, sales, product, and delivery strategies in both Spanish and English.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving/exceeding challenging strategic goals and revenue growth targets.
• Bachelor's degree in business/marketing/finance or equivalent work experience. MBA or Masters degree is desirable
• Strong business acumen.
• Strong integrity and professionalism.
