As part of the Global Finance Strategic alignment with the new all bank strategy, the Senior Manager, Model Design and Governance is responsible for supporting the architecture and governance of the Anaplan model as part of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) modernization program and enterprise-wide implementation of Anaplan. The Senior Manager contributes to the overall success of Global Finance in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Strategic Financial Partner:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders / multi-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective Anaplan solutions.
  • Support the Director in implementing the modernization of planning and forecasting across the Bank, working with finance and business partners to design models and processes that support strategic decision-making.
  • Establish an understanding of product portfolio and business models to provide advice and guidance on design standards.

Governance:

  • Support the development of a robust governance process to ensure data integrity and model accuracy.
  • Establish standard processes and documentation for models.
  • Design, deliver and support driving Anaplan best practices.

Program Management:

  • Collaborate with implementation partner on specific activities for alignment with program objectives.
  • Evaluate and optimize processes to ensure effective model builds and consolidation.
  • Support the development of documentation and training materials for Anaplan end-users, including the use of the platform.

Financial Analysis & Management:

  • Design and deliver financial analysis processes and tools within Anaplan supporting the Director in facilitating strategic decision-making and Financial Resource Management.
  • Implement and manage the Financial Management Information requirements for all business lines, ensuring the development of operational and technical solutions that offer value-added and insightful information with an enterprise-wide view.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 3+ years experience in FP&A. Financial modeling / scenario building / Anaplan deployment experience an asset.
  • Ability to gather, understand, and action business requirements.
  • Well developed planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to build relationships across the Bank and with external vendors.
  • Well developed presentation and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
