What is the opportunity?

RBC's Corporate Physical Technology team is seeking to bring on a new Senior Manager, Physical Security Risk! This is an instrumental role to develop, plan, implement and maintain the Physical Security Risk (PSR) program and stewardship of the Facility Threat & Risk Assessment (FTRA) and Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM) Programs on an Enterprise-wide basis for all Global RBC business units. The Senior Manager will be responsible for identifying/analyzing current and emerging physical security risk through continuous FTRA's of critical facilities around the world and accurately defining and analyze security trends, and for assisting in the policy and program guideline. This role will lead the PSR team in the delivery of exceptional service that builds trust through responsive, accurate, consistent, knowledgeable, and available risk services and support.

What will you be doing in this job?

  • To engage and provide subject matter expert recommendations and guidance to management at all levels, liaison with all key stakeholders to ensure sound proactive and reactive measures in security risk management programs and solutions.
  • Manage and refine risk approaches within the Facility Threat & Risk Assessment process by ensuring required policies, processes and controls are implemented and adhered to.
  • Ensure leaders understand risks inherent within each business line and ensure appropriate actions, including accuracy and safeguarding of all documentation and any other requirements to ensure operational integrity is maintained within the business.
  • Identify business unit risks and gaps; ensure appropriate action plans are in place to provide risk treatment and mitigation.
  • Represent Corporate Security Management and participate on various internal committees, industry working groups and work with external parties as required, to provide expert guidance and recommendations
  • Support the Director of Physical Security Technology in the design and development of physical security risk guidelines and associated Physical Security Risk program.
  • Ensure employees understand the RBC Vision as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviors that contribute to RBC goals.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Proven 7-10 years of relevant and recent experience in corporate physical security and audit/assessments in financial services
  • Excellent understanding of Threat Risk Assessments, Security Planning, Security Operations
  • Experience in Corporate Physical Security in an enterprise setting, working in multiple geographic locations
  • Working experience and knowledge in regulatory environments across major regions in the world, experience in resolving, responding and presenting to regulators
  • Diplomatic skills and proven competency to interact with all levels of Management while displaying a high level of security professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills, and the ability to work across various lines of business, audiences and partners
  • Attained CRISC certification (ISACA)
  • Strong and proven ability to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly changing environment, ability to execute with precision
  • Ability to travel internationally on a regular and ad hoc basis without restrictions

  • Familiarity with the risk and control frameworks, across corporate functions (info security, IT security, GRC)
