What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager Quality Engineering role at RBC is essential for ensuring the quality and efficiency of software delivery. This position involves managing multiple development projects and application support functions, focusing on the creation and execution of automated test suites. By partnering with IT and business lines, the role ensures that software meets business requirements and enhances operational effectiveness. The role contributes to the overall business strategy by adopting quality engineering processes, ensuring compliance, and improving cost-effectiveness.

What will you do?

  • Develop and implement test strategies and plans for GRM applications.

  • Create and execute automated test suites based on business requirements.

  • Collaborate with IT and business lines to test new or existing software.

  • Lead the adoption of quality engineering processes.

  • Design test cases at different levels, including component, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.

  • Utilize various test automation frameworks and programming languages.

  • Ensure the deployment of appropriate testing techniques to meet business goals.

  • Manage CI/CD and DevOps tools for continuous integration and delivery.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • QE experience with hands-on manual and automation testing (5+).

  • Experience in test case design at different levels (component/service, integration, end-to-end).

  • Expertise in various test automation frameworks.

  • Hands-on programming experience (e.g., Python, Java, or SQL) and source configuration tools (GIT, SVN, MKS).

  • Experience in a QA/test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing.

  • In-depth knowledge of various testing techniques and methodologies.

  • Strong business domain knowledge to apply appropriate testing techniques.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GIT.

  • Understanding of ETL processes and batch performance testing.

Nice-to-have:

  • Strong business domain knowledge to apply appropriate testing techniques, especially in Borrower Risk Rating sytems.

  • Knowledge of Helios or OpenShift.

  • Software Quality Certification.
