What's the opportunity?

The Risk Reduction and Strategic Execution team is part of the RBC Enterprise Control's Office an RBC cross enterprise function is designed to unify and strengthen First Line of Defense (1LOD) risk activities across all Business Units (BUs) and Functions, driving consistency and bolstering control practices. The Risk Reduction and Strategic Execution is a new mandate focused being a trusted advisor to 1LOD risk managers by developing, implementing, and training on a proactive, standardized, scalable process management discipline that empowers the bank to reduce risk and execute processes consistently and independently to drive business improvement and deliver on strategic objectives and responsible for ensuring execution of RBC's enterprise (Board, COE and Group Executive) initiatives meet outcomes, on time, on budget across multiple platforms. Working within a high-performance area of the bank, the team provides opportunities for skill development, career advancement, and the chance to work on the bank's most ambitious initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Perform comprehensive strategic reviews and analyses leveraging frameworks, approaches, tools and methodologies and develop robust recommendations to support Group Executive, segment Operating Committees, and lines of business
  • Develop proposals and recommendations for Senior Leaders and Executives that are well developed, articulated on profile high impact strategies, and action plans that drive business outcomes
  • Lead and facilitate design sessions with stakeholders to design implementation plans for business strategies.
  • Develop current and future state analysis across people / process and technology to enable multi-year execution and stakeholder with key relationship owners.
  • Facilitate Project Sponsor awareness of changes being introduced into the organization by the project and appropriately manage organizational change management.
  • Creates strategy materials and proposals to clearly communicate business value and outcomes to key stakeholders across the bank
  • Creates business cases and develops paths that highlight opportunities for technology enhancement / investment that foster innovation, scalability and efficiency
  • Develops clear and concise ways of communicating the business impact of new business models, business strategies, execution plans, and complex messages, such as the creation of primers, presentations, whitepapers, etc
  • Gain the position of trusted advisor and help facilitate trade-off / prioritization decisions with senior leaders, strategists, functions, cross-functional project teams and colleagues by providing rigorous strategic insight based on thorough research and analysis
  • Manage work streams and present engagement deliverables, raising risks / issues and providing solutions to minimize impact on timelines

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 3+ years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Consulting, Capital Markets or product management/strategy experience within a Financial Services, FinTech or technology company
  • Demonstrated ability in project design, management and implementation
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships at every level of the organization
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills and presence; strong technical ability with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and across different lines of business

Nice-to-have

  • MBA or graduate / post-graduate or professional designations or equivalent
  • Operations and Process optimization experience
  • Automation and Technology program delivery
  • Minimum two years of deep and broad management consulting experience with an emphasis on business strategy
