Role Description:

Leading the Project Management Office (PMO) for Corporate Real Estate (CRE), the Senior Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) is accountable for developing and maintaining practices, processes and procedures for Corporate Real Estate's Project Management Delivery function, ensuring adherence to Enterprise governance and risk management frameworks. As the Project Delivery Centre of Excellence (COE), the PMO provides oversight, thought leadership, tools and resources to ensure CRE's Project Management Delivery function, outsourced providers and stakeholders are delivering projects in alignment to Enterprise requirements and using industry best practices.

Project Delivery Centre of Excellence

  • Partner with key stakeholders across CRE function to ensure adequate reporting, technology and tools are available to support Project Management delivery.
  • Develops and maintains processes, procedures, and tools for use by Project Management delivery teams, ensuring adherence to Enterprise standards. Establishes and delivers training and resources regarding project delivery tools, templates, and processes.
  • Networks with industry contacts to gather external insights and best practices.

Governance

  • Develops oversight, governance, testing and monitoring capabilities for Project Management Delivery to drive consistency and quality, ensuring that internal control processes are adequate and functional.
  • Documents and maintains program and project management processes, procedures methodologies and frameworks aligned to Enterprise PMO directives.
  • Performs assessments and planning to verify that Project Management Delivery is working within PMO and Enterprise standards.
  • Adheres to Bank risk, regulatory and compliance controls.
  • Complies to audit requirements, developing CRE's response to project related audits or challenge.
  • Oversees Project Management Delivery activities of third-party outsourced suppliers to ensure alignment and quality.
  • Ensures project delivery teams have awareness of regulatory changes impacting project delivery.
  • Ensures projects are performing within defined parameters.

Reporting & monitoring

  • Works with Project Delivery team to ensure PMO generated reporting is defined, established and efficient; routines are in place; and reporting is automated where possible.
  • Ensure PMO reporting meets the needs of CRE executives, Enterprise requirements and other stakeholders - at both a portfolio level, and on a project-by-project basis.
  • Establishes tools, templates and practices to support Delivery teams in project status reporting to stakeholders and executives.
  • Partners with Data & Analytics Team to support the strategic design and enhancements of regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Understands the PM Technology systems used by BMO and outsourced service providers to ensure they are maintained, updated and continue to meet BMO's needs and Enterprise Standards.

Qualifications and Skill Set:

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and/or certification in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge - preference to PM experience within a Corporate Real Estate function and experience performing internal governance or audit functions in a large organization.
  • Valid PMP designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is an asset.

Salary:

$84,000.00 - $156,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
