What is the opportunity?

As Senior Product Manager, Business Operating Services (BOS), you will be responsible for leading the strategic vision and performance objectives along with all other aspects of the product management life cycle for Exception Payee List, Additional Deposit Narrative, National Direct Deposit Service, Third Party Demands, and Cash Ordering. The ideal candidate will understand the product lifecycle and proactively manage strategies and product management routines for optimal business outcomes.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for all aspects of product management life cycle for products assigned including assessing product strategies, ensuring alignment to BFS strategies as well as client needs across business segments
  • Will be responsible for cross selling two new products to RBC that have been created for the acquisition of HSBC. This will be a unique opportunity to introduce two products to the market for the first time.
  • Analyze potential pricing changes and present strategic recommendations that will increase portfolio profitability and minimize client impact
  • Manage new client acquisition strategies, product performance dashboards and P&L
  • Collaborate with internal partners (i.e. banking operations, business enablement, marketing, legal)
  • Be a digital champion who maintains a strong understanding of existing and desired digital capabilities within BFS, always monitoring the competitive landscape against BFS digital roadmap and recommending/advocating for change to ensure RBC continues to be a market leader
  • Complete policy and all associated procedure reviews as per the required schedule
  • Work with internal partners and external vendors to improve service levels and improve client satisfaction while looking for operational efficiencies
  • Understand and manage product risk

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Ability to quickly assess and understand root cause of any issues/asks related to product management and work collaboratively to simplify and problem solve to resolve/deliver on required outcomes
  • Strong relationship management skills. Ability to provide end to end oversight of a product or capability in partnership with internal stakeholders and clients
  • Change management skills. Ability to manage ambiguity. Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant risk identification and mitigation strategies, as well as, relevant legal and regulatory environment
  • Product and/or Project Management knowledge and skills
  • Solid working knowledge of desktop software: Excel, Word, Power Point

Nice-to-have

  • Current/prior experience as Commercial Account Manager, Business Operations, and/or Product Management
  • MBA is an asset
