As part of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team, you will play a pivotal role in executing strategic initiatives for CDS and CDCC. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Enterprise Risk Management, you will dedicate two years full-time to managing the operational risk profile of the new initiatives, ensuring its readiness for launch and operational resilience post-implementation. This position offers significant autonomy, visibility, and valuable experience in change and operational risk management, covering systems, processes, personnel, and external risks.

Key Accountabilities

Active involvement with ownership of various operational risk management activities as part of the development and implementation of the new projects, including the following:

  • Provide change leadership by performing an operational risk evaluation of the new projects by chairing the Risk Evaluation Committee and making recommendations to the Program Lead and the Chief Risk Officer
  • Partner closely with Business groups, Risk Management, Technology, Information Security, Legal, and other representatives across the Organization to ensure business, operational, and information risks related to the new projects are managed to an acceptable level
  • Lead the business in detailing the processes and system mapping for the new projects through the lens of post-implementation day-to-day activities and technology solutions.
  • Define and formulate CDCC's Risk Appetite Statements for the new services and update the Policies and Procedures as necessary.
  • Establish risk tolerance limits and key risk indicators (KRIs) related to daily operations and vendor services across various risk categories, acquiring approval from senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Conduct the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) to ensure a strong control environment for the new projects post-implementation
  • Coordinate with the Business to build the post-implementation system and process-wide Incident Management processes related to the new initiatives.
  • Review contracts and SLAs and perform due diligence and risk assessments for critical service providers as part of ongoing third-party performance and risk monitoring.
  • Update the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Key Business Processes as part of the Post-Trade Business Continuity Management Program to ensure resilience in post-implementation daily operations.
  • Recommend and support the implementation of improvements to reporting on the new initiatives' operational risk profile.
  • Act as a key point of contact for the new projects in the ERM team and participate in various internal governance committee meetings and external meetings with Senior Management and Regulators to provide a risk profile update for the new initiatives.
  • Providing any ad hoc support or assistance to other roles across the Post-Trade Enterprise Risk Management

Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, with a Master's being preferred;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in risk management, audit, or compliance functions
  • Demonstrated solid experience in delivering and leading Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) / Operational Risk Management (ORM) programs, including new initiatives related to system implementation
  • Solid understanding of information technology and cybersecurity risk management
  • Proven track record in managing and driving projects
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate regularly with the Senior Leadership Team, providing program updates, reflecting, and summarizing information
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Self-confidence, positive attitude, and pragmatism
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance, make recommendations using professional judgment
  • Sense of ownership, accountability, and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Great team spirit and collaborative mentality
  • Continuous passion for learning about the organization's businesses, the exchange sector, and eagerness to learn from business unit staff
  • Experience within a Management Consulting firm is considered an asset.
