Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC's Technology and Operations division. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

Corporate Real Estate Business Intelligence Technology team is responsible for managing physical properties and facilities. Services include acquiring, leasing, managing, and disposing of real estate assets such as branches, and office spaces. In managing corporate real estate, RBC aims to reduce cost by optimizing space usage For Corporate Real Estate users who need trusted real estate information, the CRE Business Intelligence dashboards (visualization tools) built by the technology team provides access to consolidated and accurate CRE information. CRE Business Intelligence dashboards helps RBC make smarter, faster real estate decisions and allow for advanced insights into business opportunities.

What will you do?

  • Designing, coding, analyzing, and modifying programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale system

  • Contribute to technical design, development, and implementation of applications

  • Design, build, and maintain APIs, Microservices and Responsive web applications by leveraging best practices alongside a global development team

  • Integrate applications with 3rd party tools and deploy to cloud services

  • Implement effective automation testing strategies along with the build activities

  • Ensure code quality, performance, scalability, responsiveness of applications

  • Work with technology vendors and own relationships with them to drive seamless delivery of dependent applications

  • Conduct and contribute to design and code reviews ensuring our apps are scalable, testable, and maintainable

  • Participate in post-implementation reviews of application, development, and processes, continually working to create a learning environment by sharing with others

  • Work in an Agile team environment which is fast paced, fun and collaborative

  • Ensuring the operating efficiency of existing application systems. Maintaining records for the documentation of systems development and revisions

  • Conducting analyses of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems

  • Working with different RBC internal teams for software feature delivery, support and bug fixes

  • Stay current and competitive by keeping up to date with the latest platform capabilities, security, performance, and reusability

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • 3+ years' experience Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Java technologies, Spring/Spring Boot, Angular, Google Analytics, UI/UX, SSIS technologies, SQL, working with large relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle DB, MongoDB), Cloud platform experience such as Azure, AWS, or OpenShift, Databricks.

  • 3+ years' experience using and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.

  • Knowledge of developing distributed cloud applications (Azure, OpenShift, Docker); Hands on experience designing, developing, testing and troubleshooting RESTful API and interface specifications (Swagger, SOAP)

  • Knowledge of security gateways and protocols (JWT, OAuth2.0, OIDC, SSL Certificates)

  • Full software development life-cycle experience with CI/CD and thorough testing prior to release

  • Solid Understanding of Agile and Relational Databases

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of major architectures style (message oriented, reactive, event based)

  • Micro-service architecture, design, and implementation (load balancing, discovery, resiliency)

  • Good eye for UX design and being able to collaborate closely with our UX designers.

  • Knowledge of modern SaaS platforms for Platform Analytics, Monitoring, UX, and Management (Google Analytics, Firebase, and others)
