WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Global IT Risk is embarking on a multi-year journey as part of RBC's ongoing plan to transform how we manage IT risk at RBC. In this role, you will be responsible to develop content that meets the needs of target audience, turning insights into language for user success, and supporting the goals of the organization.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Working closely with business partners, and other stakeholders to lead the development of content across various employee engagement channels (e.g. web, email, etc.)

  • Researching and collecting resources required for content development.

  • Interprets writing requests and user feedback into concrete content to improve the user experience.

  • Outlines and writes user manuals, procedures, processes and other documents needed to understand the functionality of a product or service.

  • Reviews, proofreads, and edits documentation for clarity without changing key information.

  • Interviews professionals and subject matter experts to gain a deeper understanding of the topic being written about.

  • Publish approved content on internal website

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or other related field, and two or more years of experience as an effective content writer

  • Experience writing and/or editing web, email, or other forms of content

  • Superb communication skills, both oral and written, with a keen eye for detail

  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and excellent problem-solving and time management skills

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in working with engineers to improve user experience (ex: design, UI), refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content

  • Proficient in charting / processes design tools (e.g. LucidChart, Visio), and Version Control for documentation (e.g. GitHub, documenting versions in documents), and experience with writing in markup languages (e.g. HTML, Markdown, XML)
