Job Summary

The mandate for Tax. Statements and Reporting team is to deliver unitholder tax, statement and report support services by leading the Year-end Tax project and other tax-related projects, as well as maintenance of pertaining procedural documents to mitigate operational, financial and reputational risk. Team also works closely with other areas of organization (Fund Valuations, Financial Reporting & Tax, Tax Advisory Group etc.) to address tax issues and regulatory changes to ensure a coordinated approach is utilized to enhance client experience.

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

  • Generate ad hoc reports and statements and provide them directly to Clients on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly basis.
  • Open tickets to Application Support to generate Queries for Internal and External use.
  • Ensure confirmations are generated by Print Vendor in good order. Provide pdf Confirms directly to some Clients.
  • Perform confirmations pulls upon request
  • Generate Confirms duplicates
  • Coordinate system generated reports set up in Unitrax
  • Set up system generated reports on RDS
  • RDS and IROD parameters change, update and QC
  • Investigate issues related to reports, confirms, RDS and escalate to appropriate teams to fix
  • Review current procedures to automate or eliminate manual tasks
  • Ensure all scheduled tasks are run overnight and passwords for Reporting Tools Queries are changed monthly.
  • Receive and save Canada Post weekly Invoices related to Statements & Reporting and Tax team mailing
  • Receive and save Print Vendor Invoices and Production Reports
  • Collect information regarding Manual Transactions from Operation Team
  • Create Manual transactions Spreadsheets and prepare them for Invoicing team according to DOP.
  • Calculate and provide Billing information related to Statement & Reporting and Tax team (number of statements, tax slips, confirms, postage, shipping costs, CRS and FATCA reports, AWD and PAC) to Invoicing team in a special Billing Spreadsheet on a Monthly basis.
  • Investigate issues related to Billing information
  • Send to and receive from PWGSC RESP files, process them and generate reports for MFO and Client
  • Provide KPI reports to Service Assurance
  • Provide info for PwC Audit Top-up Testing
  • Participate in E&Y Audit - NI-81-102 Testing
  • Perform reconciliations using standard templates and following all procedures
  • Assign, mark and file items in Statement and Reporting e-mail box

  • 1-3 years of tax/ accounting/audit experience preferred
