What is the opportunity?

RBC`s Z-Series Capacity and Performance team is responsible for resource management on the mainframe. The team is involved in capacity planning, performance analysis and resource reporting to ensure the mainframe is running at an optimal state.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Technical Analyst to add to our team in Toronto. You'll be working as part of a small team to help with complex data extraction with analysis along with, designing and generating reports. These reports play a critical part in the management of the mainframe hardware as well as providing vital data for business application forecasting and monitoring.

What will you do?

  • Documentation and tracking of performance and capacity anomalies.

  • Documentation of the data extractions building and comprehensive catalog.

  • Verify the distribution of scheduled and automated reports.

  • Contribute to performance management reports and presentations using various reporting tools - bringing a fresh new outlook to the presentation layer.

  • Maintain patching for vulnerabilities on Windows and zLinux server.

  • Help support and drive the strategies, missions & mandate of TI/T&O. Accountable for fostering a good working relationship with peers, co-workers, customers & support functions.

  • Contribute to ongoing administrative program activities as required.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • University/College graduate, preferably in computer science or engineering with minimum of 2 years of experience in related field.

  • Immediate to strong Linux and Windows operations skills.

  • Strong MS Office skills - Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of SAS, IBM Cognos, Microsoft Power BI (knowledge enhancement course available to success candidate)

  • Strong visual design capabilities.

  • Curious mind for solving problems.

  • Independent work philosophy.
