What is the opportunity?

The global payments landscape continues to evolve due to growth in digital commerce, new payment rails and ongoing changes in the regulatory environment. As Vice President, Global Transaction Banking (GTB) you will have the opportunity to manage and develop RBC’s product suite servicing our global financial institution clients.

We are looking for a client-centric individual who will work directly with clients, relationship and client management teams and internal stakeholders across RBC (Personal Banking, Commercial Banking and Technology and Operations (T&O)) to deliver bespoke solutions to our client base.

In this role you will have full responsibility as a Product SME and take responsibility for all initiatives and programs related to this product set.

What will you do?

  • Subject Matter Expert for wire payments and real time rail
  • Manage a suite of cash management products for the GTB client base
  • Work alongside GTB’s relationship mangers to deliver client specific solutions
  • Take a One RBC approach, working closely with cross functional teams across the enterprise to develop holistic, long term strategic solutions (translating highly complex business, compliance and regulatory requirements into cost effective strategies and solutions, while ensuring optimal alignment to business priorities)
  • Advocate on behalf of GTB in activities related to enterprise payment programs
  • Develop new products and services, including technical requirements, documentation, marketing materials and risk reviews
  • Breakdown complex topics into clear concise messages to enable leadership discussions
  • Leverage data, market intelligence, client insights and deep payments expertise to drive innovative thinking and RBC differentiation

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Solid wire payment and ISO20022 knowledge
  • Business mentality focused on revenue generation and client satisfaction
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Proficiency in the Canadian payments ecosystem: high value (LYNX), retail batch (ACSS) and future Real-Time Rail (RTR)
  • Knowledge of cash management products and services
  • Experience in large transformational programs
  • Demonstrated ability to impact and influence across multiple cross-functional teams
  • 7+ years’ experience in the Financial Services sector

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in payment products tailored to financial institutions
  • Experience in payments technology, processing and/or operations
  • Experience in project management
