Job Summary

Role: CP and ABCP Sales Trader. This is a VP-level Sales Trader position on the Short End desk managing issuer and investor relationships. Responsibility for driving revenue growth and market share in Short-Term debt space with PnL responsibilities for Commercial Paper and Asset-Backed Commercial Paper books.

Job Description

What will you do?

  • Market making and management of CP and ABCP trading for Canada.

  • Build and maintain client relationships with pension funds, asset managers, central banks, bank treasuries, insurance and corporate accounts to increase share of trading activity from both an investment and issuance standpoint.

  • Provide sales leadership across Short End complex including credit, government bonds, CP, ABCP, Tbills, OIS and FX forward with the firm's institutional clients.

  • Market new issues, manage and execute secondary transactions, and generally drive revenue growth and gain market share in line with the business's strategic priorities across the CAD short end.

  • Proactively monitor relevant markets and put forward commentary and trade ideas across the full spectrum of front-end products, including both cash and derivative instruments.

  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with trading and other internal partners, including Origination and Treasury Services to generate client business, facilitate funding and identify opportunities.

  • Drive cross selling across asset classes, and with our Senior Relationship Management team to deepen partnership approach to clients.

  • Stay current on all regulatory and structural market changes in order to respond to client's various requests.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Direct experience trading CP or ABCP.

  • Understanding of issuance process for Short-Term debt including corporate treasury relationships.

  • Deep product knowledge in Money Markets.

  • Strong grasp and familiarity with front end market dynamics in Canada, including macro context.

  • Motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and passion for the Canadian fixed income market.

  • High intensity approach, professional rigor, sales ownership, ability to set and track key performance metrics.

  • Ability to collaborate and work within a high-performance team environment, including desire to train and mention team members.

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.

  • CSC and CPH required.
