Zurich Canada is currently looking for a VP, Auto and Transportation. Reporting to the SVP Head of Liability, you will lead the national accounts auto and transportation products underwriting team across Canada. This role involves building and nurturing relationships with distributors to support business retention and acquisition, offering solutions to address their insurance needs, and promoting a sales-oriented culture. Assisted by technical underwriters, you will also oversee and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, insurance laws, regulations, and pricing strategy, while creating action plans based on Zurich key brokers performance and market trends. The VP will ensure the profitability of the portfolio through sound class selection, active portfolio management, development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards.

• Collaborate with peers from other Zurich business units to develop business plans that will ensure both growth of customers and increased product density with existing clientele.
• Actively manage the portfolio of National Accounts auto and transportation products in Canada including fronting arrangements and group captive agreements.
• Manage delegated authority levels as well as handling referrals with the assistance of technical underwriters.
• Demonstrate specialized knowledge and expertise in large fleet accounts.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers in support of business retention and acquisition and works with customers and brokers to determine their insurance-related needs and provides solutions.
• Support the organization's sales culture.
• Assure development and implementation of policy, procedures and standards to produce profitable results.
• Business travel, as required.
• Extended hours during peak periods, as required.
• Maintain a valid driver's license, as required.
• Visibility in the office, as required.
Required:
Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years of experience in auto and transportation underwriting, market facing, broker, carrier or risk management area within the commercial insurance industry.
OR
Bachelor's Degree with 20 or more years of experience in claims, broking or underwriting area within the commercial insurance industry.
AND
Experience in auto and transportation insurance with 5 or more years of people management experience

• Experience managing complex portfolios
• Technical knowledge of insurance industry operations and processes
