YOUR IMPACT
The Senior Manager, Systems Architecture will lead the development, implementation, and evolution of OpenText's platform architecture and strategic initiatives. This role focuses on landing zone consolidation, automation, and platform capability optimization to drive standardization, reduce complexity, and improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of landing zone design, the ability to guide the development of reliable, high-performance, and scalable platforms, and the ability to align platform architecture with business goals.
The role will report to the Senior Director, Technology Architecture and will be pivotal in advancing the overall platform strategy and architecture, significantly contributing to how platform capabilities are architected, developed, and leveraged in OpenText.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
• Designing and reviewing landing zone architectures across datacenter, private cloud, and public cloud environments to drive standardization and efficiency
• Developing consolidation strategies to reduce architectural complexity while maintaining business capabilities
• Creating automation frameworks and strategies to minimize operational overhead and optimize platform management
• Implement well-architected framework principles and conduct architecture reviews with engineering and platform teams
• Establish reference architectures and design patterns for platform standardization and Drive implementation of infrastructure as code practices
• Providing architectural guidance for platform components (Networking, Storage, CI/CD)
• Driving cost optimization through landing zone consolidation and automation initiatives
• Developing metrics and KPIs to measure platform effectiveness and utilization
• Reducing operational complexities in enterprise platforms by reducing the number and complexity of landing zone variations, improving platform automation coverage and reducing operational overhead
• Implementation of well-architected framework principles across the enterprise thereby significantly contributing to operational efficiency, cost optimization, and technical excellence
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
• At least 5-10 years of large enterprise experience in Platform Architecture, with a significant portion in cloud architecture and design
• Strong experience in designing platform architectures across data centers, private cloud, and public cloud environments to drive standardization and efficiency
• Strong expertise in software architecture, microservices, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience migrating legacy architecture patterns at an enterprise level is highly desirable
• Cloud Architecture: Deep understanding of cloud platform services and landing zone design
• Container Platforms: Expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration (Anthos, GKE, etc.)
• Infrastructure as Code: Advanced knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent
• Networking: Strong background in SDN, load balancing, and network security
• Security: Understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements
• Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute long-term technical roadmaps
