RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Training for bookkeeping department
  • Managing workflow
  • Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts, defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
  • Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
  • Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
  • Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
  • Payroll
  • Government filings, GST/HST and Payroll remittances
  • Onboarding new clients and transferring existing data to cloud software
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed of engagements

QUALIFICATIONS

** Proficiency in QBO and QuickBooks online is a must**

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, QBO, QuickBooks Desktop and Sage50
  • Responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, financial reports and government filings -HST, payroll source deduction remittances.
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
  • Other software that are considered an asset are Dext, Hubdoc, Xero, and Wagepoint
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English.
  • Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
