We are recruiting an experienced, bilingual (French) Senior Corporate Accountant to join our Finance team. This position can be based out of our Toronto North York Head Office, our Burnaby, BC Head Office or Brossard, Montreal.

This is an on-site position.

Position Overview:

The accountant will be primarily responsible for performing the duties of the General Accounting function. The Accountant will ensure the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, perform various data/analytical procedures and ensure the accuracy of all financial and accounting work.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in all aspects of month-end closing
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, track open items and record necessary journal entries
  • Complete the month-end closing process in a timely manner
  • Assist with the annual year-end audit
  • Help design and implement process improvements, internal controls and accounting policies
  • Communicate to all levels of the company, including outside of the banks
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports as needed
  • Prepare accounting entries for patient financing and bank reconciliations
  • Read stock purchase agreements and prepare associated vesting journals
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager or executive

Education, Degrees, Qualifications:

  • University degree in business/accounting required
  • Accounting designation preferred
  • 3-5 years of professional accounting experience preferred

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Fluency in English and French is required
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel is required
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle
  • Audit experience is considered an asset
  • Experience with group structures and consolidation is considered an asset
  • Strong time management skills
  • Diligence and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
