Internship in Avionics Systems Integration

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Working on one or more of the following avionics AFCS, Communication (VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink), Navigation (ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, Transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, Weather Radar), Displays (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS), Information/Maintenance & Recording (IMS, OMS, Data load, CVR, FDR, AHMS)
  • Assisting an experienced integrator to define and manage the systems and subsystems requirements to ensure safety, certification & aircraft design requirements and objectives are met
  • Working with the system suppliers as well as other interfacing suppliers and disciplines on the program to ensure the system is properly designed to be integrated smoothly on the aircraft
  • Writing report and documentations to support avionics system certifications
  • supporting ARP4754 system and aircraft requirement verification and validations
  • Supporting the Final Assembly Line and In Service Aircrafts for any design related issues
  • Design change management process in a large-scale engineering organization
  • Aspects of the aircraft lifecycle management
  • Requirement management
  • Priority management and time management

How to thrive in this role?

  • You have completed 3rd year of a 4-year program in Electrical, Electronics, Software, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • You are fluent in English (spoken and written) and can convey complex ideas simply through written reports and presentation material
  • You are autonomous, organized and have strong analytical skills
  • You can work well in a team environment and be proactive
  • You have strong MS Excel knowledge and Office suite
  • You have knowledge on the concept of aircraft operations
  • You have knowledge of Sharepoint and SAP (an asset)
  • You have knowledge with specification and testing related to Avionics functions (an asset)
  • You have knowledge on how avionics systems integrate and interact to the overall aircraft (an asset)
  • You have knowledge with the industry standards DO-178, DO-160 and ARP4754 (Asset)

It is important to note that our internship opportunities are open to students only, not new graduates. All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
