Your future role on our team

Reporting to the Chief Accountant, you'll handle a range of tasks for our Finance and Accounting Department. Your responsibilities will include the month-end close process, various monthly and quarterly analyses, budget variances and other tasks.


More specifically, you'll be asked to:

  • Perform month-end accounting tasks, primarily: preparing financial statements, analyzing expenses and calculating budget variances, recording month-end accruals (e.g., salaries, vacations, banked hours, source deductions, other accruals), managing bank loans and finance leases and maintaining debt schedules
  • Conduct several monthly management analyses, mainly of salaries, capital expenditures and budget variances
  • Perform internal analyses for managers
  • Conduct quarterly management analyses
  • Record month-end entries for the items mentioned above in the ERP system
  • Prepare, update and file various supporting documents for month-end closures and ensure follow-up
  • Review and optimize the month-end process (occasionally)
  • Respond to ad hoc requests related to payroll and expenses

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Five to ten years of relevant experience
  • Solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, mainly Excel
  • Experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
  • Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written
  • Asset: Professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • Asset: Knowledge of Maconomy (ERP system)
