We are seeking a driven individual who is passionate about global capital markets to join the Corporate Development and Strategy team. The Analyst will report to the Manager, Strategy and Corporate Development. The Analyst will work closely with different internal functions to participate in managing recurring strategic and business management activities for TMX Markets, which consists of the Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives Trading and Clearing businesses of the TMX Group. This individual will also be responsible to drive strategic due diligence, produce financial models and deliver pitch books in order to support the Corporate Development (M&A) function.
Key Accountabilities:
[Management & Reporting] - Engage with internal partners to consolidate and prepare presentation materials for different audiences such as the board of directors, upper management and other business stakeholders.
[Modeling] - Develop and manage comprehensive financial management systems to facilitate reporting exercises and coordinate with enterprise functions (e.g. Finance, Product, and Sales) on a recurring basis, usually monthly or quarterly.
[Market Intelligence] - Gather, analyze and present industry insights to support business decision making and idea generation for strategic opportunities.
[Corporate Development] - Assist the evaluation of mergers, acquisitions and/or partnerships, as well as the enterprise corporate development team on special projects. Find and identify opportunities and develop strategies to enter new markets and business segments. Identify and execute potential synergies for the portfolio of business units.
Must Have (s):
Successful completion of Bachelor's degree in business administration.
1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Strong quantitative and qualitative skills with knowledge of Google Suite.
Organized individual who is able to work in a demanding environment both independently and part of a dedicated team.
Strong verbal and oral communicator with great interpersonal skills.
Bilingual (English and French).
