Job Description:

*** this is temporary position - minimum 15h a week ***

The Assistant Case Manager is a member of the claims processing team in our disability department with the purpose of determining whether claimants are eligible for benefit payments. The Assistant must frequently communicate with plan members, plan sponsors and other departments.

Main accountabilities

  • Perform address change verifications

  • Process mail returns (letters, documents)

  • Verify invoice payments/returns

  • Follow up on claim forms, medical information and other documents

  • Import documents into the records

  • Send fax requests

  • Draw up letters

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.

  • Strong customer service skills and professionalism

  • Highly organized team player who can also work with minimal supervision

  • Able to work in a PC environment

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
