Associate, Corporate Client Group Finance

What is the opportunity?

RBC Corporate Client Group (CCG) offers credit solutions to companies with credit needs exceeding $25 million. We are hiring an Associate to support the Managing Director/Director, CCG Finance and his/her team in the realization of CCG annually established objectives (loan book growth and revenues) through the structuring (pitch through close) delivery and management of the bank debt of our targeted customer base.

What will you do?

  • Be part of a national team of CCGF underwriters committed to the delivery of quality credit products to RBC clients and targets.
  • Support CCG bankers to structure, deliver, close, and monitor syndicated and bi-lateral loan transactions
  • Assist with preparation of marketing pitches to existing and potential clients for corporate loans (acquisition loans, bridge loans, term loans, revolving credit facilities)
  • Support CCGF team credit submissions, including research, analysis, financial modelling and due diligence as part of transaction process
  • Support CCGF team with transaction documentation and coordination with clients and legal counsel
  • Assist with loan portfolio management, client strategies and related administrative duties
  • Engage with RBC partners and functions including Group Risk Management, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Treasury Management, Specialized Financing (Asset Based Lending, Leasing, Trade Finance etc.), Personal Banking, and others
  • Liaise with back office functions connected to, for example, closing and funding, wires, payments, settlements, etc.
  • Interact with CCG clients

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance
  • Strong quantitative, financial modeling, and analytical skills with an ability to analyze company financial statements
  • Basic knowledge of credit, credit metrics, and credit structuring
  • Strong skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and the ability to source data/research
  • Capability to work through Loan Agreements and other legal documents, with minimal supervision
  • High level of attention to detail in both written and financial work
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, meet time sensitive deadlines, prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities while working on multiple projects
  • Well organized and able to set priorities and devote appropriate attention to each assignment
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs

Nice-to-have

  • Preference given to individuals with an MBA, CPA (CA, CMA, or CGA), or CFA
  • Work experience in corporate lending / corporate finance / corporate lending
  • Ability to commit to over and above regular work hours
