Job Description:
The Best Practice Consultant, People Operational Excellence will be a key advisor in driving continuous improvement within HR Shared Services. This role is responsible for identifying, recommending, and implementing continuous improvement best practices for HR processes, systems, and service delivery to improve efficiency, enhance the employee experience, and achieve high-quality outcomes. The consultant will work closely with HR teams, leaders, and external partners to develop and integrate strategies that promote continuous improvement across global HR Operations.
What will you do?
Best Practices Development:
Lead the identification and development of continuous improvement best practices across HR Shared Services, focusing on process optimization, automation, and customer service excellence. Benchmark internal processes against industry standards and best-in-class examples to recommend improvements.
Process Improvement and Optimization:
Facilitate assessments of current HR operational processes and workflows, identifying opportunities for streamlining, reducing redundancies, and improving quality. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement optimized processes and ensure their successful adoption.
Consultation and Advisory:
Provide expert consulting to HR teams on best practices, process improvements, and operational excellence initiatives. Act as a trusted advisor on matters related to HR systems, technology, data, and service delivery models.
Standardization and Consistency:
Ensure consistency in HR service delivery across regions by developing and promoting standardized processes and practices. Work to align global operations while ensuring the flexibility to accommodate local needs.
Knowledge Management and Content Curation:
Regularly update content and ensure easy access to resources for a knowledge base and repository of learning resources for Sun Life Employees and HR Shared Services.
Change Management:
Lead and support change management efforts related to the implementation of new best practices, systems, and process changes. Develop change management plans and training programs to ensure smooth transitions and high adoption rates.
Performance Measurement and Reporting:
Collaborate with HR analytics teams to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to track the effectiveness of new best practices. Provide regular performance reports and actionable insights to leadership on operational improvements.
Knowledge Sharing and Training:
Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and training programs to educate HR teams on best practices, tools, and technologies. Act as a subject matter expert, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning within HR Shared Services.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work closely with other HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), HR Business Partners, IT, and other departments to ensure best practices are integrated into broader HR strategies and initiatives. Serve as a liaison between HR Shared Services and other functions to ensure alignment and seamless service delivery.
What do you need to succeed?
Education
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
Experience
3-5 years of experience in HR Operations or a similar role
