About the role
Join the Housing Programs Finance Team in the Specialist, Finance Liaison, Central Agencies position. You will serve as the primary liaison to coordinate all financial deliverables to central agencies regarding Housing Programs. Acting as the point of contact for Housing Infrastructure and Communities Canada (HICC), you will ensure timely and complete communication around critical paths, briefing notes, financial content, query resolution, special analysis, and adherence to quality control standards.

What you'll do:

  • Research and analyze Housing Program activities to meet HICC and central agency requirements.
  • Synthesize complex information for corporate documents and provide advice to the Director of Housing Program Finance.
  • Perform a quality control function, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all external materials prepared.
  • Manage reporting structures, ensuring data integrity and outcome measurement for financial deliverables.
  • Proactively develop materials, such as briefing notes, reports, and policy proposals, incorporating diverse perspectives and emerging trends.
  • Track and coordinate deliverable approvals, balancing risk management and time constraints under tight deadlines.
  • Foster collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparency, and effective financial processes.


What you should have:

  • An undergraduate degree in business administration, public administration, finance, commerce, political science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial reporting, policy analysis, or government relations.
  • Strong research, analytical, and business writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information in both English and French.
  • Proven organizational and project management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Political acumen, sound judgment, and ability to navigate complex environments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a talent for stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize workflows and manage approval processes effectively.

It would be great if you also had:

  • A Master's degree (e.g., MBA) or equivalent education.
  • Experience preparing Treasury Board submissions, supplementary estimates, or similar deliverables.
  • Familiarity with central agency requirements, governance cycles, and financial reporting frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success working in high-pressure environments with shifting priorities and strict deadlines.
