Job Description:

About the role:

The Content Specialist will report to the Senior Investment Writer and is responsible to help create, and manage content across multiple platforms and formats to drive sales, and client engagement for Sun Life Global Investments.

This bilingual Content Specialist will also play a key role to support our French content, by reviewing/proofing and creating French-first content to ensure alignment with our brand standards and guidelines.

This individual strives to be a creative content expert and has a passion for telling stories. This includes brand consistency, tone of voice and producing compelling ways to creatively position market and investment concepts to diverse audiences. The role collaborates with diverse departments including: The Multi Asset Investment Team, Retail and Institutional Sales Teams, Product and Channel Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Product Management etc.

Other key responsibilities include helping to develop timely insights. This includes liaising with various teams to ensure our content reflects portfolio manager's opinions and positions, as well as writing, updating, proofing and editing diverse content.

What will you do?

  • Translate complex ideas into compelling, and media-appropriate communications for various audiences including advisors, institutional audiences and investors
  • Develop, write, edit, or proof content for a broad array of materials, including PowerPoint Presentations, product support pieces, timely investment insights, event-related content, videos, social media etc.
  • Work closely with the Multi-Asset Investment Solutions' team to support their thought leadership initiatives. Ongoing support to build, enhance and update their flagship market outlook PowerPoint presentations
  • Participate in content ideas for advertising campaigns, unique headlines and story telling positioning
  • Collaborate with content stakeholders in different functions, including compliance, product management, sales etc.
  • Provide English and French proofreading / editing support for diverse mediums
  • Collaborate with other writers and content providers, designers and outside resources to effectively execute initiatives that are timely and relevant for our target audiences

What you need to succeed?

  • A passion for story telling in various mediums. This includes written, infographics, slides, social media - whatever it takes to creatively capture the audience's attention. Design experience would be an asset to the role
  • Exceptional French writing skills and native-speaking French capacities. The individual is this role needs to be functionally bilingual (English & French)
  • Some experience or keen interest to work for an asset management or other investment-related company. Working knowledge or deep desire to learn more about the wealth industry and understand concepts relevant to financial advisors
  • Exceptional writing/storytelling skills and proficiency in writing for a variety of audiences including institutional investors, intermediaries, investment advisors and their clients, including data-visualization abilities to tell story with images, graphs, call-outs, etc. to engage the targeted audience
  • Experience in creating and managing content for diverse mediums including written articles, videos, PowerPoint presentations, social media and digital first content etc.
  • Editing and proofreading experience with extreme attention to detail
  • Good understanding and/or interest in investment concepts across asset classes such as equity/fixed income, as well broader economic trends
  • BA/BS required. A plus would be advanced degrees and/or investment related credentials such as the CSC, CIM, etc. Or keen investment interest/knowledge with intent to pursue related accreditations
  • Proficient in data analysis to aid with storytelling. Examples of this include transforming Excel data into compelling visuals (graph visualization) to use in PowerPoint presentations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal stakeholders
  • Self-starter who can work independently and "act like an owner" to lead a project from idea generation to execution to evolution
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: must be able to influence and negotiate with people from diverse backgrounds and levels throughout the organization
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
