Job Description:

About the role:

Reporting to the Manager of CRE Data & Analytics, the CRE Technology Analyst will be responsible for developing and delivering analytical solutions, dashboards, and reports. Additionally, the analyst will assist in the development of team members and uphold standards of analytical excellence.

The successful incumbent will play a critical role in partnering closely with our business partners (internal and external) to understand the business and their needs and leverage data to provide high impact analytics and insights. The CRE Technology Analyst is passionate about data, dashboard development, with superior analytical, data exploration, modeling, storytelling and visualization skills. Overall, the CRE Technology Analyst will regularly produce and modify metrics, trending and reports related to; space, occupancy, utilization, service tickets, project management, sustainability and CRE business operational health; and conduct consultation with CRE peers and business partners on emerging needs related to limited time improvement monitoring measures and business case value propositions.

What will you do?

  • Use data to craft compelling narratives that support business partners in decision-making processes, enabling them to improve outcomes with data-driven actions.
  • Supporting consulting requests from non-technical requestors from start to finish, including scope definition, requirements gathering, mock-up and MVP creation, ensuring a feedback loop with the requester, and process documentation. This includes presenting findings with senior leaders
  • Proactively analyze data to reveal valuable business insights, including trends, correlations, and anomalies.
  • Convert data and information into business-relevant stories tailored to the audience.
  • Design and develop reports and visualizations to facilitate ongoing data-driven decision-making for CRE teams and improve speed-to-decision.
  • Maintain standards for analysis and reporting at all levels including metrics definitions, data governance, documentation, testing and visualization techniques.
  • Data mining and analysis of occupancy, space, utilization, maintenance, project and portfolio performance, and sustainability, interpreting and communicating results into meaningful performance and progress indicators.
  • Provides consultative guidance to other teams in consideration of data requirements in the development or change of analytics/measures for on-going monitoring and development of recommendations.
  • Effectively collaborates with multiple workstreams and helps the team to deliver business value
  • Takes steps to understand current market, industry, analytic trends and benchmarks and their impact on business initiatives and tools.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5-10 years of work experience with Data Analytics field using SQL, Tableau
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Corporate Real Estate
  • Experience using oral and written storytelling to share data driven insights in a clear, succinct manner.
  • Adaptable, outcome-focused, enthusiastic, self-motivated, with a keen sense of organization, ownership, and accountability; able to work independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A suitable academic background such as College Diploma / bachelor's degree in business, Data Analytics, Data Science, and Facility Management or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced data analysis, dashboarding and visualization experience within Tableau and a solid understanding of the best practices around dashboard, visual perception and querying large datasets with SQL.
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs, with advanced Excel skills (macros, pivot, data tables, visual basic analysis, advanced formulas, and functions).
  • Experience with existing and emerging tools (including but not limited to Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Miro, MS Teams)

Analytical Skills:

  • Skilled in rapidly comprehending and analyzing data structures across diverse systems and tools and in leveraging robust research abilities to critically evaluate assumptions and ensure data accuracy.
  • Strong communication and visualization skills to present complex information simply and distill high-quality analysis into actionable key insights tailored to various audiences.
  • Strong partnering approach with a commitment to meeting business partners' unique requirements and implementing ways to increase user knowledge and the value they derive from our dashboards.

Preferred Skills

  • Tableau certifications

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
