Job Summary

Job Description

Purpose: Primary and Secondary market making on the various products that are traded within the Fixed Income Products rates group in Canada.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide efficient primary and secondary market making within the RBCCM platform.

  • Ensure that all operational limits are respected and adhered to.

  • Develop and foster a strong working relationship with all traders and marketers of RBCCM.

  • Achieve profit targets within the defined parameters of their assigned limits while ensuring that RBCCM's client's interests are always protected.

  • Communicate risk positions and market developments to head trader and head of the department.

  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in the market

  • Communicate and update various RBC Centres of the latest price and market information

  • Ensure that dealings with counterparties are confidential and fairly handled

  • Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business

  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities

  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions promptly. Failure to do so may subject you to disciplinary action, up to and including termination

*Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly do business with partners across Canada.
