We're seeking an Engineering Director to drive innovation, technical excellence, and resiliency across web, mobile, and API platforms for CNB Digital out of our Montreal lab. What will you do?

Lead Agile Squads

  • Inspire and mobilize squads to design, code, and deliver world-class software solutions. Empower teams to embrace continuous improvement and adapt to business needs with agility. Champion Scrum and Kanban practices to drive seamless collaboration and speed.

Drive Technical Excellence

  • Set the technical direction and solve complex problems with ingenuity and leadership. Ensure every solution is secure, performant, resilient, and aligned with regulatory standards. Collaborate with DevOps, security, and QE experts to deliver seamless, integrated systems. Champion our strategic vision by aligning technical solutions with long-term goals. Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to evaluate and implement transformative technologies.

Elevate Banking Systems

  • Lead the delivery of robust integration strategies for banking systems and third-party services. Ensure compliance with financial regulations while optimizing for performance and scalability.

  • Deliver resilient solutions capable of handling large-scale transactions and sensitive data.

Grow and Develop Talent

  • Provide career coaching and real-time feedback to help engineers thrive and grow. Play a key role in recruiting top talent and building a collaborative, inclusive team culture.

In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Minimum of 12 years of software development experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience: Java, .NET, Python

  • Minimum of 6 years in full stack development for cloud solutions (Azure or AWS) - Azure preferred

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.Proven experience leading agile engineering teams (Scrum and Kanban) in web, mobile, and API development.

Nice to have:

  • Minimum of 6 year experience with databases and data modeling / design (SQL & NoSQL)

  • Minimum of 3 years coordinating team efforts in a project or operations environment

  • Extensive experience in banking systems, integrations, performance optimization, and resiliency.

  • Proficiency in secure coding, DevOps pipelines, and continuous delivery practices.

  • Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., AI-powered testing, code generation).
