Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, Financial Planning position in Montreal, QC from May - Aug 2025.

Job Summary

The Intern, Financial Planning is responsible for assisting financial partners supporting Transportation and Network Operations. The role supports the leadership team with key financial insights and operational analytics. The incumbent can build business acumen and skillsets for the development of business cases driving CN's strategic agenda. The role is performed within a team of trusted Financial Advisors supporting the Operations strategy and agenda with a focus on safety, operational productivity, and facilitating sustainable growth.

Major Responsibilities

· Participate in the budgeting and planning process aligned with business needs communicating effectively with each budget owner
· Collaborate with financial partners to automate financial management processes and tools providing timely and relevant information to stakeholders, facilitating decision making and driving business performance
· Assist in managing financial impact of projects including the preparation of a business case, monitoring the project scope, timeline, budget, benefits, and explaining the variances
· Participate in process improvement and optimization initiatives to deliver cost savings and efficiency gains

Education

· Working towards or having completed a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
*Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
