Overview
The Senior Consultant, Group Benefits Strategy will support the delivery of strategic activities and projects to enable decision making related to Group Benefits (GB) near term and longer term strategic direction. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a focus on supporting strategy project delivery, engaging senior leaders in the business and functions to solve key strategic questions and staying in the forefront of competitor actions and market development. This role will work closely with peers across the GB Strategy and Sales Enablement teams.
What will you do?
Support GB's annual planning process
Own the analysis and content development of specific components of GBs annual planning process
Support key business leaders in the development of objectives and key results
Provide project management support throughout the planning cycle and coordinate with team members to deliver strategic plans
Support strategy and innovation work to improve GBs market position
In partnership with the Directors of Strategy in GB, support strategy and innovation work by leveraging input from SMEs to drive towards recommendations
Decompose problem statements into a set of hypotheses and perform both quantitative (e.g. financial analysis, market sizing) and qualitative analyses (e.g. competitor benchmarking) to validate them
Define research and analysis plans and source relevant data and information from both internal (e.g. Finance) and external sources (e.g. industry research reports, new articles, competitor data) for analysis
Bring new perspectives and creative ideas to develop innovative and practical approaches and solutions to problems and issues
Synthesize qualitative and quantitative analytical results to inform development of relevant recommendations and inform strategic decision making
Maintain awareness of key market and competitive trends and developments
Actively build and maintain awareness of key market and competitive trends
Lead projects to explore or address emerging opportunities or threats
Build strategic dashboards and monitor key trends impacting the GB business
Identify implications for GB and proactively communicate / share with appropriate stakeholders (as appropriate)
What do you need to succeed?
Minimum of 3-5 years relevant business experience, ideally within insurance or group benefits
Knowledge of insurance / group benefits processes and capabilities
Experience analyzing and solving complex business problems
Strong communication and presentations skills - written and oral
Strong collaboration and relationship management skills
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.
