The TELUS Business Solutions (TBS) Finance Business Partner team supporting Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry Solutions is a small team with a big mandate. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will oversee all IoT Direct Costs and proactively perform cost management with a firm focus on driving vendor cost efficiencies. You will help the TBS leaders and their teams to achieve business objectives within financial goals. Based on your strong analytical skills, you will provide insights and recommendations that influence key decisions to improve financial performance. You will build and suggest key performance indicators (KPIs) and analysis that will support action plans. You will be involved in special projects evolving the products you will be supporting. You will be tasked to help support emerging IoT portfolios with the expectation to help improve profitability by helping the leaders identify revenue and cost optimization opportunities as well as improved cost management for network operations.


As a trusted Finance Business Partner, you will be a fundamental contributor to IoT Emerging Portfolios - Intelligent Spaces and Data Insights. You will play a key role in enabling portfolio's financial forecasting, budgeting and processes to support the organization's strategic goals. You will foster relationships with business partners across the TBS and present findings and recommendations to achieve strategic and tactical business initiatives.

Here's how

As a member of the IoT Finance team, you will:

  • Prime proactive cost management across IoT Portfolio with a firm focus on driving vendor cost efficiencies
  • Manage Vendor IoT Direct Costs for all of TBS wireless (WLS) and consolidate IoT Direct Costs Margin P&L
  • Prime month-end close activities and prepare monthly reporting package with clear and concise commentary for assigned emerging portfolio
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Support the end to end monthly forecasting and annual budget cycle based on sound financial principles and expectations, working closely with the Business Planning teams
  • Maintain multi-year business planning models, based on strategic direction of organization
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis as required to aid key stakeholder to make informed business decisions
  • Partner with BU primes and key stakeholders to prepare executive level presentations
  • Identify and implement process improvements and deselection opportunities

  • University degree and CPA accounting designation is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant analytical experience in a finance/accounting position
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, with in-depth knowledge of Excel
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion is an asset
