About the role

Imagine multidisciplinary teams working together to continuously deliver a software platform at the heart of the operations of a big company. As Senior IT Business Analyst, you will be part of a shared service group and a member of the Product Catalog Team, that is at the center of development teams and reporting to a Director of Engineering. What you'll do here:

  • Acts as a liaison between the user community and various IT departments according to the identified steps in the Intact SDLC (System Development Life Cycle).

  • Writes, reviews and recommends changes on documentation (business processes, system documentation and procedures)

  • Helps the team estimate and plan the effort required to deliver large and complex projects

  • In consultation with business partners, elicit requirements for medium to large changes.

  • Identifies risks and support project deliverables and scope by demonstrating effective planning

  • Works with Product Owner/stakeholders to realize the Product vision; Considers re-prioritization of the product backlog

  • Recommend system and procedure upgrades to existing programs as required

  • Handle escalated issues and incident management: investigate, analyze and resolve

What you bring to the table:

  • You are passionate about building software products, you want to have an impact and contribute to the success of our team, you like to work in a constantly evolving environment, you are stimulated by challenges, and you promote change.

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology/software engineering or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least 5+ years of experience as Senior IT Business Analyst (or similar role)

  • Knowledge of Java and popular Java frameworks (JSF, Spring MVC)

  • Bilingualism (French and English) - Need to interact regularly with colleagues from across the country.

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Asset:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Agile/Scrum development in software engineering.

  • Understanding of large scale applications, network architectures, monitoring performance and fault management

  • Well organized, with a good sense of how to manage priorities.

  • Have strong troubleshooting, analytical & problem solving skills

  • Able to work independently

  • Creative and curious, take initiative.

  • A team player, ready to contribute and receive feedback.

  • Ability to convey complex information in a digestible pieces for all audiences
