As part of the Risk Oversight & Compliance team, you will be a key contributor to the delivery of the CDS and CDCC strategic project initiatives, including the newly launched Equity Total Return Swap (TRS) initiative, providing initial and ongoing model validation to ensure risk management initiatives are in compliance with CPSS-IOSCO Principles for Financial Market Infrastructure (PFMI's) and internal policies/procedures. Moreover, drawing on your expertise, you will find practical solutions to enhance the default management practices.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Analyze financial risk exposures (market, credit and liquidity) and validate models and other components used to manage financial risks. Make recommendations to streamline current processes and improve efficiency

  • Participate in the design of internal policies related to market, credit and liquidity risks

  • Creating and maintaining positive relationships with business partners (Architecture, Operations, Legal, IT) to satisfy their needs and anticipate potential issues

  • Provide support in risk measurement, and qualitative and quantitative analysis related to equity, fixed income, derivatives, and structured products

  • Design and operationalize hedging strategies and procedures to manage the default of Clearing Members

  • Present solutions and quantitative results to the senior management, Regulators and Clearing Members

Must haves:

  • A Bachelor's/Master's degree in finance, financial engineering, statistics, or the equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the financial industry with a focus on capital markets and financial risk management in a quantitative role

  • Sound knowledge of financial risk management concepts and techniques (e.g. Value-at-Risk measures)

  • Relevant risk management experience in fixed-income, structured products and derivatives

  • Excellent quantitative and data analysis skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight timelines without compromising the integrity of information

  • Proactive initiative and capacity to work independently

  • Expert written and oral communication skills

Nice to haves:

  • Direct experience with equity TRS products (market structure, products, cash flows and regulation)

  • Strong technology and information system skills (e.g. Matlab, SQL, VBA, R)

  • Working towards FRM (Financial Risk Manager from GARP) or/and PRM (Professional Risk Manager from PRMIA)

  • Enrolment in the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) program
