About the role
Join the Insurance and Securitization team, Risk Management Operations (RMO), in the role of Specialist, Risk Analysis and Reporting. In this role, you will support the Securitization business by participating in evaluating and reporting relating to the CMHC Securitization programs and providing risk inputs into policy/program direction and/or risk governance, including operational risk and internal controls in their ongoing activities and as part of strategic initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Provide substantive securitization expertise and assistance to the business line in the development and analysis of internal controls and risk management activities.
  • Provide support and guidance to the business lines on risk management frameworks and policies to ensure effective management of risks and controls, including remediation actions to address issues and make recommendations for improvement to stakeholders, including Senior Management.
  • Ensure and/or support the execution of ongoing monitoring, testing, evaluating and reporting on key processes, controls and policy/program requirements, assessing rigor and consistency in the application of policies, procedures and controls.
  • Build relationships with external and internal clients to proactively identify emerging risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Promote and leverage appropriate industry frameworks, standards, and practices, as applicable, in conducting work activities and stay informed about corporate objectives, priorities, and initiatives across CMHC to adequately identify existing and emerging risks.
  • Promote an effective risk culture including awareness and accountability for identifying and managing risks.
  • Act as a liaison between 3 Line model, clients, stakeholders, and related relevant business areas.

What you should have:

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field such as business, finance or economics.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in risk management and reporting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, quality assurance and oversight.
  • Sound judgment, analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills, including the ability to be forward thinking.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills and being tactful in dealing with sensitive issues.
  • Self starter with the ability to multi-task and work under time constraints, combined with a willingness to learn.


It would be great if you also had:

  • A CFA or FRM designations.
  • Strong knowledge of securitization and related risks and concepts.
