About the role

We're looking for a Unit Claims Manager, Appraisal, to join our growing team!

What you'll do here:

  • Directs and coordinates the activities to achieve quality and compliance objectives of the repairs performed by the vendors, in accordance with Intact policies and in compliance with Intact standards and procedures.
  • Act as a resource person by providing support to internal and external estimators and various Intact resources to answer their questions.
  • Provide training and technical support to employees by keeping up to date on software and techniques used.
  • In collaboration with the adjusters, verify the subrogation files of other insurers and make the appropriate recommendations.
  • Perform quality control of estimates produced by all in-house appraiser and body shops by ensuring compliance with policies and the application of standards and procedures, including those concerning customer service.
  • Increase the efficiency of his sector by participating in the development of analyses and recommendations.
  • Manage the activities of their team by organizing, planning and controlling the optimal use of human, financial and material resources according to the budget, while promoting teamwork.
  • Support the teams of our trusted networks for complaints related to estimates.
  • Participate in various existing committees in the field of estimation and be aware of industry techniques.


What you bring to the table:

  • College diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 to 5 years of management experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of the appraisal process and software
  • Experience and demonstrated leadership success factors within Intact
  • Good analytical, synthesis and decision-making skills
  • Project management and change management skills
  • Can engage and mobilize your team
  • Can build relationships based on trust and collaboration
  • [Bilingual (French and English)] Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country.
