THE ROLE
This high-visibility role supports AMD's AI organization, reporting directly to the Director of AI Finance. The position focuses on providing strategic financial insights and managing operating expense reporting to guide decision-making, streamline planning, and drive meaningful business outcomes. You will collaborate with business leaders to deliver financial expertise and spearhead initiatives that are critical to the success of AMD's rapidly growing AI business. You'll work closely with senior executives to develop strategies and implement innovative process improvements in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

The ideal candidate is a proactive collaborator with experience in the semiconductor industry and a proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. They have exceptional analytical and communication skills, a passion for challenging the status quo, and a dedication to enhancing operational efficiency. Key traits include a sense of ownership, accountability, and a drive to lead impactful initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver timely and accurate financial information to support business planning, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with business partners to forecast product development costs and track progress against plans.
  • Identify financial risks and problem areas, propose solutions, and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide month-end accounting and financial support, including journal entries and variance analysis.
  • Offer day-to-day financial guidance by approving spending requests and ensuring alignment with budgets.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to streamline reporting, automate tasks, and improve efficiency.
  • Prepare and validate financial reports with supporting documentation for the BU.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional business initiatives and projects.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, optimize reporting, and refine operational cadences.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive finance experience in a multinational, high-tech environment.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with senior executives.
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Robust analytical skills with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Semiconductor industry experience is highly desirable.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
