This opportunity is for a Corporate Controller in a 14-month term position; temporary assignments will also be considered.
The position requires working 75 hours biweekly.
The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Board (WSCB) administers workplace health and safety and workers’ compensation in the territory. WSCB’s mission is to assist workers and employers in preventing work-related physical and psychological injuries, illnesses and disabilities. The Role:
The Corporate Controller, reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Strategy, is responsible and accountable for financial reporting for the Workers’ Compensation and Safety Board. The position will provide leadership, direction and expertise on all aspects of corporate and operational financial reporting. The position also acts as the liaison with other branches on financial and accounting issues relating to planning and managing the business objectives of WSCB.
Essential Qualifications:

• Professional accounting designation (CPA)
• Senior Management experience providing supervisory, leadership and financial expertise
• Annual Report and Financial statement preparation
• Significant experience working with IFRS requirements
• Senior level experience auditing with internal and external auditors
• Experience working with complex computer business/financial applications and software
• Experience with an Enterprise Risk Management system would be an asset
• Experience within the workers' compensation industry would be an asset.
Candidates who have significant experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
