About the branch:
The Wildland Fire Management (WFM) branch contributes to the protection of people, property and the development of sustainable, fire resilient Yukon communities and infrastructure. WFM directly maintains and oversees the safe training and operational practices, and values natural ecological processes to ensure operational efficiency within the territory.
About the job:
Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment the Finance Officer provides financial and budgeting duties as required to support Wildland Fire Management (WFM) Branch. This position is responsible for preparing variance reports, financial reports, budgets and budget briefing notes. This position works closely with the Manager, Business Services to manage the branch's operations, maintenance, and capital budgets while liaising with branch staff to ensure day to day operations are in line with the budgets. The Finance Officer is responsible for providing financial oversight to the Finance Clerks.
