Corporate Finance Team Overview

BMO Commercial Banking Canada's Corporate Finance team focuses on private companies operating in diversified industries. The team is responsible for marketing, managing and monitoring large corporate loan portfolios, as well as supporting credit requirements and cross-selling efforts for other activities, including subordinated debt, equipment leasing, derivatives, cash management and trade finance. The team evaluates financing opportunities of $10,000,000 or more.

Position overview

The Senior Manager, in conjunction with an Associate Manager, manages a commercial loan portfolio, originates new customers and coordinates with other products as part of a larger coverage team that maintains strong customer relationships. He facilitates the Bank's growth initiatives through strong business development and excellent relationship management with key customers.

Job description

Develop his market by acquiring new customers. He will have to be constantly present in his market and work closely with the center of influence to promote the organization.
Participate in credit recommendations concerning risk, deal structure and requirements of new and existing customers. This includes working closely with the Associate-Director associated with him to facilitate the annual review process, interim reviews, quarterly reporting and exception resolution.
Manages the risk of the complex portfolio assigned to him/her in a timely and accurate manner.
Leads and executes business development plans for customers.
Serves as customers' primary contact for credit-related matters and develops strong relationships with them.
Researches data to facilitate solutions for customer/prospect activities and needs.
Coordinates the administration and processing of services, ensuring that the customer experience is seamless and that opportunities are identified and fulfilled.

Qualifications

Experienced professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree or MBA (finance, accounting, economics or related field) with strong academic record and more than 7 years of relevant experience.
A current or completed CPA, CBV, CFA or other relevant professional designation or graduate degree is an asset.
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, including financial and accounting analysis, data analysis and statistics.
Excellent computer knowledge and technical skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
Excellent negotiation skills with clients and legal counsel.
Strong organizational and collaboration skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines.

$84 000,00 - $156 000,00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
